General Experience
After graduating from university, I worked as an editorial assistant for a science, technology and medical journal. This lay the foundations for working in publishing.
I had a second career working as a successful medical scientist in high-impact research laboratories (Medical Research Council, Francis Crick Institute, and the Water Research Centre), obtaining a PhD in Viral Immunology, and contributing to many publications in international journals on infectious diseases, molecular virology, immunology and bioinformatics.
From 2000 I have worked first part-time and, after 2019, full-time as a freelance editor, proofreader and indexer on mainstream scientific books and journals from major publishers, government documents (Department of Education), company presentations, annual reports and educational textbooks. I am available for work all year.
